Maybe you should give the new cage to the cockatiels and let the baby budgie have their old cages. I like the little "bassinet nest" with baby ribbons on it in your signature.

It's a small quarantine cage. And I was thinking about a crib, but I didn't want to extract all the bars. And of course blue! I'm trusting my gut he's a boy.

Hahahhahhh Beaker my boy! 5 minutes in that cage and he already claimed the space with a zillion little poos

Actually those are sunflower seeds. There's only one poop in there. I need to scrub it out.

Well while you weren't looking he must have stepped in a new one because I see some poo traces on the grate lol
Hey I am not criticising the cleanliness! I just found funny the way he was perfectly at home in someone else's crib :-D

Oh no, I wasn't saying that. They're dumpsters. I clean up after them constantly. And he learned from Beck to trash the nearest home that isn't yours. Darn boys.

He is incredibly beautiful! He is not an english budgie, right? their faces are completely different and I prefer this type of face a lot more.

He's gorgeous and I LOVE the purplish color. I suppose the violet factor is involved somehow but there are so many factors that influence this coloring that I don't know what else is going on. Here are a couple of links showing various combinations with the violet factor:

I'm not sure this baby is really a lacewing though. Lacewing is the name that some species give to a cinnamon lutino, and this baby is obviously not a lutino. There are other mutations that can cause pale wing markings, and I think he might be a greywing or dilute.

I think he's too pale to be a greywing.
