Yes, I was looking at some young chicks on Craigslist and I know a breeder only a half hour away from us. She has 2 young birds right now, but I should get my answer in about a week... I know how he works. I told Becky he may get a friend and he jumped down and did his happy dance. I hope he gets one.

The breeder from Craigslist sent me the picture of his clutch:
Ready in a few weeks and almost weened. If this is a go, which is where I think it's heading, I will look for one of these guys.

Oh how adorable!! Do you know what the mutations are? At first I thought one of them was a lutino but then I noticed a hint of green on the rump. Baby pictures are so cute.

Not entirely. But I know what the mother and father look like.
Mother: (Notice daddy's head in the corner?)
Father: (Also mama stalking behind him)

Wow, dad's a real challenge to identify! Some kind of pied maybe and I don't know what else. There are several types of pied in budgies including at least two kinds of dominant pied, and the baby with green on the rump is probably pied. Mom looks like she might be olive green in the first picture but she looks like normal green in the second one.
There are two babies with no yellow on them so I think both parents must be split to blue. Dad might even be visual blue (among other things) because it's possible to have a yellow-faced blue budgie and it looks like he might have some very pale blue feathers on one side. The blue mutation generally removes all the yellow from a bird just like whiteface does in cockatiels, and the exact same genes are involved in both species.

Updated baby pictures:
Oldest: From my observations, a hen.
Second oldest: I'm guessing a cock. This is the one I'm looking at the most.
Third oldest: Can't tell here, but look at that violet!

These babies are all beautiful! I never was a fan of this type of birds, but I have to say that seeing the ones you guys have, in the forum, is slowly changing my mind...
