The theme for this month is "strange babies". Your bird in some kind of breeding or baby related situation that is NOT natural. Each member gets 5 entries for the art contest. The voting will start on April 25th, 2016.

I have plans, but they might have to wait until after April 15.

I have a plan too. I just have to figure out how to draw a baby quail.

If you google for quail cartoon or quail chick cartoon you'll get some inspiration. I kind of like this one. No this is not an entry because this isn't my picture:



The first real quail chicks of the year showed up in my yard yesterday, about 8 or 10 of them running after their parents. Little tiny things. They looked about the same size as the ones in this picture:

Carolyn, can you further explain the theme for this month? I feel like some members might be confused.

Something on a breeding theme that's not what you'd usually expect from the bird's species. Having babies an odd place, pairing up with an odd mate, taking care of unusual babies. I've got some plans but it's likely to be a couple more days before I have time to carry them out.

I've been imagining Beaker and Jaid playing with the budgies like they're baby dolls.
