Oh my god. You don't know how happy I am right now. I feel like crying from relief. It was so scary thinking about how Lucy was doing out in the wild.

she seems to feel a lot better now. Definitely happy though. every once in a while, she stops eating, and runs across the table. Her eyes are almost complete circles. She stepped up and climbed to my shoulder. Then flew and landed on the tv. She stepped up again, and when I put her to her cage, she climbed right in. Now she's eating even more. Definitely seems to be happy to be home.
The only thing I'm concerned about now is her poop. The feces is black. She must have eaten something weird out there. What should I do?

Just keep an eye on it for now. It might be from chewing on pine needles. When I lived in Georgia (which is covered with pine trees) I was given a cockatiel that flew into my neighbors yard. Her poop was black at first too but it cleared up quickly.

Ok, that's good. Her throat might be hurting too, since her voice sounds weird. What are your suggestions for treating that?

I'm not a vet and don't want to recommend treatment for a problem I don't understand. So my suggestion would be to keep an eye on it but let time and nature take care of it for now. If there's still something to worry about in the morning it would be best to talk to a vet. They know a lot more about the consequences of this kind of adventure and how to deal with it.

Definitely made my day too. Hoping she bounces back soon. Seems mainly interested in eating seeds, but as long as she's eating something, I'm alright. I think I'll make some birdy bread tomorrow, or some other stuff. Probably soft foods to help that throat. Anything to get the nutrients back in her.
