My rabbit has UTI, baytril was prescribed. I wonder if I need to allow some time after the course is over to re-test urine... My vet tells one thing, but I would like to see if somebody knows how it should be done.

I'm not sure. I don't really have experience with rabbits. If this is an illness that can cause death or bad symptoms then I would think double checking to see if the illness is still there would be wise. If the vet says it's fine not to double check then maybe it's not necessary and he feels like baytril will cure the UTI. If after the treatment the rabbit looks fine and the vet says it's not necessary then maybe you won't have to double check.

well it's a long story. Thumperina is 3.5 yo and only now I am ready to spay her. Needed to be done much earlier. She has two children who live with us, and those buns are 3yo. Her son is fixed but her daughter is not. Both females really suffer without having a male. I will be spaying both of them (spay is rather expensive, too). A problem is that I can't find rabbit savvy vet...they all know something about rabbits but none of them is an expert unfortunately.
