Very, very cute little one.

LOved the song!!!!!!!!!! Anything that makes me smile and tap my foot is oh so much fun. I can see them on Daning With the Stars having a great time with that one.

The song is from the US civil war era, roughly 150 years ago, and if you listen to the lyrics you can tell that the people eating the goober peas are soldiers. The internet says the word goober derives from a word meaning peanut in a couple of African languages. This makes sense considering that peanuts are grown in the south and this is also where they used to keep African slaves.

I wonder if the original use of the word as an insult implied something like "peanut brain" or "ignorant hick".
