I am on my Thanksgiving break right now, so I have a week off. We are going to go up to the Feather Farm. I've been there once. It was set up on a farm, in a really run down house they converted into a store. It doesn't look like much, but their love and care for their birds is clearly there. They have all sorts of birds there. English budgies, clonclurry parakeets, indian ringnecks, african greys, ecletus, macaws, at least 20 tiels and lovebirds at a time. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. They even take you into the back room and handle the chicks they are handfeeding to socialize them early. The first thing they do when you walk in is stick 3 or more birds on you. I love it there.

I was a little socially overwhelmed last time because there was a lot going on with my surroundings, plus it was during summertime I went, so it was 100 degrees with their power blown out and air conditioner not working, so that didn't help, but now that I know what to expect, I am eager to try again (especially now that it is fall, so it will be much cooler).

Hopefully we can make it up there this week, and I will be sure to take pictures if I do make it up there. :)

While you're there, you can mention to your parents that Christmas is coming soon. Hint, hint.

That's a shame. At least you can enjoy the birds there. I have a week off for Thanks Giving too.

Wow, I just got up there yesterday. I've really put this off.

Little baby umbrella cockatoo playing with his towel. He would always jump off his playstand, waddle up some stairs and go "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii". He was adorable. He had no coordination at all. Little baboo could hardly perch.

"I kind of want you to pet me, but I also kind of want to bite you."

I recently watched conures in Petco...I always feel bad for birds in pet chain stores. There were one sun conure for $600 who put up a whole show just for me. He was so funny but all alone:(
on another side there were 4 different type conures (smaller size for $400) and those had much smaller compartments but they could see each other.
