Haven't heard of an update on the little guy. Does the flock like him?

They're still getting used to each other. They don't hate each other but there's no affection so far. Dweez spends part of the day with the cockatiels and part of the day (and all of the night) in a different room. He's still getting used to me too so we need some private time lol.
Right now he's in the bird room chewing on eucalyptus branches, getting wacky with a piece of millet spray, and enjoying the other amenities. He was bobbing his head up and down while holding a piece of millet in his beak. I tried to get a video but he had dropped it by the time the camera was ready.
He likes looking in a mirror, so in the evening I like to sit down and watch TV with him in my lap, while I show him the mirror occasionally and feed him bits of millet spray. He's learning that it's fun to hang out with me!

Wow. That's a lot of progress. Do you notice him liking to spend time on the floor? They are grass parakeets which spend a lot of time on the ground foraging for food in the wild. Does he do the waddle walk?

I think all parrots do the waddle walk lol. He was clipped pretty hard and can't fly well, so he ends up on the floor a lot whether he wants to be there or not. His flying skills are improving though, and sometimes I find him in places that I didn't think he could get to. He'll need to grow in more wing feathers before he can really start flying.
For now he really prefers to be in higher places (that's where birds feel safer), but he might turn into a voluntary floorwalker after he's had more time to settle in. I've had him for less than three weeks so it hasn't been very long.
He still sucks at stepping up, but he's slowly starting to grasp the concept. He was handfed but it's obvious that the breeder didn't work with him, and he doesn't really understand what I want from him. Most of the time I have to put him on my hand and then walk to wherever I'm going with my other hand on his back so he doesn't fly off.

Sparkle has gone like Bryni, skittish.... he came good on the hand but spending time with Bryni has turned him... a nice bird, but likes to spend his time flying or in the cage with Bryni.. witch is fine bye me.... Its lovely to have a pet bird that likes to spend time with us tho... my 2 tiels I had loved to sit with me when I was doing anything....( hope the new boy will too in time)
