As we all should know by now, I am completely on and off when it comes to budgies. I like them, I don't, I'm pleased, I'm frustrated. I say I am done with budgies after Beck and Poppy, but why is it I have a feeling I'll probably never live without one?
My advice to you all out there for those who don't have a budgie yet, don't get one unless you are prepared to get a few. I don't know what it is. I always say I am done with budgies. I don't really get anything from them like I do the cockatiels. But then my heart tells my brain that is malarkey.
Budgies: little birds, complex appeal.

Sounds to me as if you cant live with a budgie, and you cant live without one! Wonder what you'll do?

I like budgies. The males in particular are active little birds who give you a lot to watch and listen to. I'd love to have one but I'm not sure how well a single budgie would fare in a big flock of cockatiels.

I'll probably end up with about 6 when I move I'm sure, so Beck and Poppy can have their flock.

Piper can be annoying! He thinks he owns Emma. Anytime she comes over to my chair, he comes over to supervise and to be sure she doesn't get too close to me.
In the morning when I give out treats he comes to my finger. At first, he's on, but he's leaning back, away from me. A second or two and he will relax and take his treat. He's funny, because he's so bossy with the other birds and then there's this one situation where he shows a little fear.

That's just the way boys are. The best way to get Squeebis to go somewhere is to put Teela there first. The same principle applies to several other males in my flock.

My budgie seems to be the boss... he was the last to join my small flock of 1 tiel and 3 P'lets... I lost my other tiel about 5 weeks ago... he just died in my hand.. was chatting to me one minute and gone the next... He is so missed as he didn't stop talking all day long...

I'm sorry that you lost your cockatiel. At least you can take comfort in knowing that it was over very quickly without a lot of suffering, and he was happy up until the moment that he suddenly left.
That must be one tough budgie if he can boss parrotlets around.

Jan, which one went? That's so sad.
I agree. Byndi (hope I got the name right) must be tough if he is able to boss parrotlets around.

Oh Jan...I'm sorry to hear about your bird. That must have been sad for you. How sweet for him though that he was with you when he died.
