Sometimes Piper doesn't want to go into the cage. I try to herd him toward the door, and he flies off screeching at me in an Very Annoyed tone of voice. Same thing if I try to get him to step up. However, he then flies to the cage door and goes in.

I find it so amusing that he has to pretend it's his own idea, not mine, but he does bow to the inevitable.

I rearranged the swings in the cage (except for Emma's). This seems to have solved the problem of Silver pushing Emma off her swing when getting ready for night night.

It's so fun to watch them getting up to their perches as I start singing their lullaby and bring the cage cover over. They are really are like little children.

Budgies are strange creatures. Mine aren't tame either, but Poppy is very much in love with my face, so I can almost get him everywhere he needs to go by moving my head and having him follow. He loves my black glasses, my nose and my teeth. He frequently asks my face for scritches since he is growing massive pins on his head, but he backs out at the last second every time. Silly boy. And, he also had a caging routine (which I just broke yesterday). I had their cage with the door that slides upward. They could come out of it, Beck knew how to get back in, but Poppy still can never figure out how to get back inside. He would try to come down face first, back first and then give up and start screaming. So, yesterday, I got a pair of wire cutters and hacked the thing until the door opened outward now. Now, they both can come in and come out easily.
