With fall like weather here in NY, temps are around 68-70. Is that too cold for Peach to go in the shower with me? She is very dusty and really needs one. LOL.

You don't want her to get chilled, so make sure she has a way to stay warm afterward if she needs it. One simple way would be to put a towel across one end of the cage and shine a lamp on it so the heat from the bulb goes into the cage, just like we do for a sick bird.

And I recommend late morning (10:30, 11:00) so it's a decent, warmish temperature and she has the whole afternoon to preen and dry off.

Want to know what I do.....
I let them shower with me and
then while I'm drying my hair I
hold the drier a long way from them
on cool and they dry off quite a lot...
They love the hair drier....
Mine they are use to it since they were young...
Worth a try....

There are a lot of birds who love hair dryers and others who think it's scary. It's certainly worth a try, just make sure she doesn't get too much heat.

Both great ideas, the hair dryer and the heated towel! I never thought of them.

Well, the best thing for me would be to have a shower room for all the birds to get in together... omg I would love to have like a mini sauna-type big box, where they all go in and do their rain dance :D
Ok, another crazy idea to put on the list of outlandish bird stuff to be built in the future.

Barbara always has the most ambitious plans for bird equipment lol. The aquarium-pump bird shower that you built before was great and now you're thinking of taking it a few steps beyond that.

Well, the problem is always the same : they don't cooperate! As we know they get scared of every stupid little change so can you imagine how they'd welcome a rainbox... What Is infuriating is the way they get into cupboards and wardrobes and crevices when they feel like exploring, but NEVER where they are supposed to go!

Thanks everybody! I hesitate to do anything that scares her because she still doesn't trust me after me taking her to the vets so many times when she hurt her wing. She won't let me kiss her or scritch her head yet. :(
On the other hand she starts preening and dancing when my husband comes anywhere near. The little brat! :)
