I've been craving one of these for years. This one is just a baby, his colors will get more intense when he's older.

Listen, I know naming things means you'll get attached, but he's going to be staying long enough, so I figure he needs a name. Do you have any ideas?

Bird names come to me sort of randomly so I'm just calling him whatever pops into my head to see what fits. So far the ones that fit best are Prince, Festus, and Chuckie. I made a Photoshop picture to go with Prince but it's absolutely dreadful!

I like "Prince: the Prince of all Princess Parakeets", although that's a mouthful.

I don't know, Prince doesn't really roll off the tongue for me, but it's not bad. Chuckie scares the crap out of me because of that demon doll, so I don't like that one... it's your call in the end.

I should give him a name that starts with the letter S. Then I can call him Prince Ess.

He has zero flight power which means that I can safely take him out in the yard. I stay about a foot a way from him and keep an eye out for hawks. The wild birds are helpful with this since they take off when they spot a hawk.

Here he is in a desert willow tree. It's bird-safe and I frequently cut branches from it for the cockatiels to play with.

What a surprise - a grass parakeet likes to be in the grass.

He enjoys the aviary too.

Contrary to what it looks like here, he neither loved nor hated the bath.

I like that. Prince Ess.

Already seems you're becoming a little attached... ;)

He is BEAUTIFUL! Makes me want one. I love the first pic. I thought it was from Google. It's really good quality. What camera do you use?
