I should give him a name that starts with the letter S.  Then I can call him Prince Ess.
He has zero flight power which means that I can safely take him out in the yard.  I stay about a foot a way from him and keep an eye out for hawks. The wild birds are helpful with this since they take off when they spot a hawk. 
Here he is in a desert willow tree. It's bird-safe and I frequently cut branches from it for the cockatiels to play with.

What a surprise - a grass parakeet likes to be in the grass. 

He enjoys the aviary too.
