Silver has been with me for ten months. Y'know, he was tame from the day I got him. But I am amazed at how deep and fun the relationship can be. Right now he is on my shoulder and giving himself an all over preening, just as comfortable as you might wish for.

Silver is starting to seem like a year old child. He does his own stuff a good part of the day. But, then he just wants to be with me. He loves to be talked to, sung to, and danced with. But,, then I go into another room, and once we get just out of range of the living room, he calls to his buddies and then flies from my shoulder back into the living room. It's not that he wants to play with his buddies, but he still wants to be near them.

He's just starting to use the playgym. I found a way to get him onto it was to sing him a song and bounce him closer and closer to it while perched on my finger. I found very cheerful, bouncy songs worked well for that.

Honestly, I just feel super lucky to have found him.

I like having birds that like to be with you. It's a fun relationship.

I like places where I can get the bird talk out. The Bird Shop is a fun real place to visit too. It's seriously amusing to see the all tatted, meanest looking biker come in with his senegal parrot on his shoulder, shopping for bird toys.

Different crowd though, they can be crazy, but if you're one too they are very nice people.

I don't mind if bird people think I'm a crazy bird lady. I don't like it if non-bird people think that.

I do agree with that statement however. People who don't like birds just don't get it.
