Hi!
Someone gave me a couple of cockatiels that had already eggs in their nest. But when the eggs were missing a week to hatch, suddenly the cockatiels stop caring for them, so they got cold and couldnt hatch. Now the hen is putting some eggs again, but she stays too long outside the nest, so they wont get warm.
what can i do?? how can i make her responsible of the eggs again

P.D. the cockatiels had a few months ago 3 birds that are really well now, so why is it that they arent caring anymore.

The hen might not be ready to start incubating the new eggs yet. Many birds wait until several eggs have been laid before they start incubating. The babies hatch at about the same time when the parents do this, instead of hatching at the rate of one every other day. Just wait and see what happens. If you haven't had the parent birds very long, it's possible that they haven't settled in yet and are too nervous to do their parenting duties properly.

I don't know what happened to the previous eggs. Eggs are often lost due to night frights - the parents get scared and leave the nest, then can't go back because it's too dark. By the time the daylight returns the eggs are cold.
